Hand veins can be cosmetically treated using sclerotherapy.
Sclerotherapy can be utilzed to cosmetically treat prominent hand veins. This procedure involves the use of a tiny needle to inject veins with a chemical solution which will irritate the lining of the vein, causing the vein to collapse and spasm shut.
While the veins are collapsed, the patient is required to wear compression wraps for several days afterwards. Eventually the treated veins will be reabsorbed by the body.
Individuals may need 1-3 treatment sessions. Treatments are generally well tolerated and no local anesthesia is required. Most normal activities can be resumed after treatment.
